It’s Friday here and I am finally out of bed. After sleeping two to three hours total on the plane ride here it was good to get an early night sleep which ended in about 12 hours total.
Dan picked me up at the airport Thursday and we got to our home base. We are staying at a B&B for the week, thanks Dan for finding it. Cynthia is our host, very gracious. I spent the day unpacking and checking for traveling damage to the bike and wheels, none found, thankfully. After bike and roller assembly, it was time for a little down time and a short nap. I tried to read some but sleep took over and I had to give in. About an hour and a half later I was up feeling quite refreshed. Time for some easy roller work to try and get some cycling legs back. I felt surprisingly good. Cynthia was ok with me riding in the living room. The weather is a bit “soft” here, that is cool and rainy,  for riding outside. The rest of the day included some reading, early dinner and then back to bed. It’s nice to have a place where we can have a kitchen and be able to make food we like and not have to eat out all the time. I slept great all night. We are in a quiet neighborhood off the main roads so it’s easy to get some needed rest.
Dan has already been training at the track Thursday night and he is off again today already for another track session. My first track session is tomorrow mid day and I feel good about that. Last year I had way too much fun training before the real event which resulted in some unexceptional sprint qualifying times. This year is going to be different.
The rest of my day today is undecided, a little site seeing, another trip to the grocery store, reading and more sleep.
