Day 27, it’s all coming to an end.

Bonjour, wait, what happened to days 18 through 26? Well, I’ve been on vacation which means I really don’t have deadlines to meet, and my days are spent mostly enjoying those vacation days. Fitting journal, blog, video, and reviewing and posting pictures into the schedule just must take a back seat.

If you have viewed any of my past adventure blog posts, meaning the 2022 Australia adventure, you know additional posts, blog pages, extended picture galleries and video galleries will continue, they just happen after I am back in MN and life becomes more mundane. It seems a bit foolish to travel to a different continent and instead of enjoying the full experience, I would experience half days of fun and then sit around and blog for the rest of the day. Nope!

For those who do read some of these posts, I hope they have been entertaining. For me, the posts are a way to remember the trips, all the bumps, spills, and excitement each day brings. A way for me to learn from each adventure and maybe help make it easier to duplicate in the future. I know I used a lot of what my mate Bushy and I did in 2017 to plan and execute this trip.

Today, Wednesday, we spent walking all over this area of Paris. From our hotel, the New Orient, to the southeast side shopping district, over to areas we have never seen before, the Grand Palais section, then back to the Louvre Garden area, then to the Musee de l’Orangerie, the impressionist’s gallery, then across a marvelous bridge that straddles the Seine River to the Musee Rodin. The Grand Palais area was an unexpected fun and scenic find, the impressionist’s gallery was good, better for Vera then me. The Rodin gardens and indoor galleries were amazing, the statuary being more my preferred art form.

The day was cool, windy and some rain drops but we were both dressed and used to this kind of weather by now. We walked, 10 to 15 km maybe? My cycling legs are screaming at me to stop the walking and get back on a bike. I’ll be happy to get home and do some longer outdoor rides. Although the weather reports from home have not been much of an improvement over our Euro weather.

We get our last Paris brekky in our hotel tomorrow, pastries, breads, choices of yogurt, fruit, muesli, fromage, great coffees and then we load up into a taxi that will get us straight to CGD airport.  This will be more efficient and less of a struggle than finding a taxi to Gare du Nord Paris, find a train to CDG and then finding another taxi to our last hotel near the airport. One last stressful day set aside.

Friday, we are up very early to get to the airport, check in and hope the luggage isn’t too heavy and then get a non-stop flight from CDG airport to MSP. We leave at 10:10 A.M. and arrive at 12:35 P.M., after 6–8-hour flight and gaining 6-7 hours by flying west. The next few days are going to be ugly for sleeping.

                  Au revoir and “a bientot”!
